Cambridge Kinetics is seeking a motivated and experienced Marketing Manager to join the team and play a crucial role in taking our new business management product, Kinabase, to market.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for marketing and storytelling, coupled with a creative mindset and a strong ability to write and execute go-to-market strategies that drive business growth. This role will primarily be responsible for digital content creation, event planning, and product marketing.

As part of a fast-growing start-up, you will have the power to have a real influence on shaping the future of our product, marketing, sales and strategic direction – ensuring we put quality at the heart of everything we do. You will be responsible for building out our marketing capability from the ground up and helping define our long-term strategy.


You will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies to drive user acquisition, engagement, and retention, ultimately leading to the success of our new product. You will work closely with our product development team, across functions from sales to R&D, to identify growth opportunities and optimize the buyer's journey.

Your responsibilities will include:

Website Content Creation

  • Create content for Cambridge Kinetics’ News page, including company and industry updates in the form of blog posts and case studies.
  • Assist with website page updates, and creation/ideation of new web content.
  • Implement SEO strategies to improve organic search rankings and increase online visibility.
  • Manage Kinabase’s internal content request workflows and stay up-to-date on all new content requests, including writing website “What’s New” feature updates and customer support articles.

Social Media Content Creation

  • Create and post social media content weekly: either a development feature update, a blog post from the website, or another relevant topic.
  • Use Google and LinkedIn Analytics to understand post engagement and traffic, and optimise for more viewers and engagement.

Product Marketing

  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitors, and opportunities.
  • Build Kinabase’s go-to-market strategy by understanding target customers, product positioning, distribution channels, pricing strategy, sales and marketing plans, and customer acquisition/retention.
  • Managing the user journey and touch points, and setting up email marketing to assist with product awareness and onboarding new clients.

Event Planning

  • Assist in planning and executing events to promote Kinabase, including business exhibitions and career fairs.
  • Coordinate logistics, manage event budgets and swag, and evaluate event success.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales and software development, to ensure cohesive messaging and brand consistency.
  • Effectively communicate marketing strategies and results to stakeholders.

You will have a strong academic background and practical experience in industry, and with a passion for taking products to market and a desire to learn and grow.

To help, here’s a summary of who we are looking for:


  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.
  • Proven experience in digital marketing, business development, and/or analytics, preferably at a Marketing agency.
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing channels such as social media, content marketing, SEO, and their associated tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Design skills, with ability to design graphics and branding using tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch and Canva.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Creativity and the ability to think outside the box.


  • Familiarity with CRM systems, features, and terminology, in order to communicate (sometimes complex) technical concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Knowledge of product lifecycles and marketing trends.
  • Proficiency with marketing automation tools and email marketing platforms like MailChimp.
  • Experience with technical writing using software development terminology.
  • Certifications in relevant marketing areas (e.g., Google Analytics, HubSpot).

Kinabase was created to provide our clients with better custom software solutions at a fraction of the cost - focusing on user experience, design and performance.

There is certainly no typical client and those involved in the company can look forward to involvement in a wide range of industries - covering everything from agriculture, to charities, to construction.


We have offices in St John's Innovation Centre and you will be required to be in the office three days a week, and be willing to occasionally travel to events.

Interview Process

Our interview process is straightforward and is designed to help us get to know each other. We will start with an initial phone call to discuss the role and your experience, followed by a one hour face-to-face or online interview with the team. We will expect you to prepare a short, 10 minute presentation on how you would approach the role, how you would market Kinabase, and what you would do in the first 90 days.
