We are proud to announce the near step on our journey to a more sustainable future as we create a more waste-conscious culture at the Centre.

We’re delighted to introduce our first range of SJIC-branded coffee mugs. They are on sale now in the Bistro and the Atrium and cost £10.

To celebrate this exciting arrival, we’re launching a Bring-Your-Own-Mug (BYOM) campaign to reduce waste generated by reusable coffee cups at the Centre. Our Bistro team will offer a 15p discount on hot drinks every time a customer brings a reusable cup.

“We’re making positive steps in the right direction,” said David Gill, Managing Director of St John’s Innovation Centre. “We’re aiming to improve recycling and reduce the amount of single-use materials by offering more sustainable alternatives with recycling areas, reusable mugs and water stations in the Centre.”

The Centre is also saying goodbye to plastic straws and cutlery and has replaced plastic cups with glasses by the Bistro water station.

Navigating the green areas at the centre:

• A recycle area for aluminium, plastic and toner waste is located on the ground floor behind the reception
• Water stations are located at the Bistro and upstairs in the Atrium
• New recycling bins will soon be available in the Bistro
