🌟Partnering for Purpose 🌟

St John’s Innovation Centre is proud to announce our new CSR partnership with North Cambridge Academy (NCA) — a school serving the King’s Hedges and Arbury neighbourhoods, two of the most deprived areas in Cambridge, where over 50% of students are eligible for free school meals, more than double the national average.

As our chosen CSR commitment for 2025, SJIC will be supporting NCA’s new library project in a number of hands-on and meaningful ways:
📚 Providing design layouts, including a new outdoor reading space
🪑 Fundraising for new library furniture
🔧 Offering practical support with assembly and maintenance
📖 Cataloguing and organising donated books

We’ve already kicked off our support with a donation of prom dresses from SJIC member tenants, gratefully received by Principal Jane Driver.

Barnaby Perks, CEO of St John’s Innovation Centre, said: “We believe that every student, regardless of their background, deserves the opportunity to succeed. By supporting NCA, SJIC is investing not just in education, but in the future of a community that deserves the resources, opportunities, and care necessary to unlock its full potential. NCA’s commitment to inclusivity, wellbeing, and aspiration-building aligns with our values, and we are proud to contribute to a school that is making such a meaningful difference in the lives of its students.”

We’re honoured to support a school that places such a strong emphasis on aspiration-building and bridging the “experiences gap” — exposing students to opportunities they may not otherwise have.
