Zak has enjoyed a varied career spanning publishing, design, and digital marketing, progressing from an unqualified junior designer at some of London’s top agencies, to running a “youth culture” magazine, before joining the Online Publishing leadership team at regional newspaper group Archant.

In 2006, he co-founded and managed his own performance marketing agency, Further, which grew to be recognized as one of Europe’s leading independents, employing close to 40 people. In 2019 Zak completed a sale of the business to a global B2B agency, subsequently serving on the Performance Marketing Board before concluding his earn-out in 2021.

Zak brings a wealth of real-world experience, with a particular focus on leadership, strategy, and planning for commercial growth. He has been with Innovate UK for a little over three years as a Senior Innovation and Growth Specialist, and also serves as an Investment Readiness Specialist for the East of England, running training events on behalf of Innovate UK Business Growth and sitting on the selection committee at Anglia Capital Group.
