What is Innovate Local?
The Innovate Local Programme is a suite of regional engagement events that promote Innovate UK and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) objectives. We work with local stakeholders to create an event that addresses regional innovation priorities and workshops to help businesses learn more about the grants and innovation process.
Our objective is to reach out to local businesses and demonstrate the types and levels of support available. In addition, to inspire them to look at innovation in their business through the presentation and panel sessions.
The Programme is now in its 5th year and Innovate UK KTN has been a trusted delivery partner throughout this time, organising and delivering the Innovate Local events.

Three innovative local entrepreneurs explore how they have benefited from Innovate UK support and the impact this has had for their business.
- Go beyond grant funding
Learn how Innovation Loans and investment can grow your business beyond an initial grant. Get expert tips on choosing and pitching to angels, early stage and growth investors.
- Power-up your ideas with expert knowledge and science
Learn how experts at universities and research organisations can collaborate with you to overcome your research and innovation challenges.
Anglia Ruskin University has partnered with TWI to create the Anglia Ruskin Innovation Centre (ARIC), which will focus on the digitisation of products and services as well as infrastructure solutions, new business models and transformative management that can drive innovation and sustainable economic growth for our region, the UK and internationally.
In addition to the above, we’ll have Masterclass Workshops running throughout the day which will offer expert advice on:
- Writing the grant application people want to receive;
- Making your business – and your team – Investment Ready;
- Bringing new expertise and innovation into your business.
There will also be ample time for you to network and meet other ambitious businesses as well as our experts and those from our partners like Growth Works, the transformational business growth service, the Smart Manufacturing Alliance and the region’s peer to peer industry networks.
