St John’s Innovation Centre-based BlueScientific has joined Aptco Group, a European technology group specialising in laboratory instrumentation and scientific solutions.

Founded 13 years ago, BlueScientific has built a strong reputation across the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands and the Nordics, providing scientific instrumentation backed by technical expertise and application knowledge.
The acquisition will see BlueScientific become part of Aptco Group’s wider pan-European platform, giving the company access to an expanded European footprint and additional operational, technical and service capabilities.
Tom Warwick, Founder and Director of BlueScientific, said the partnership represented an important step in the company’s growth journey:
“From day one, our ambition was to build a pan-European organisation. We are incredibly proud of our team and the strong position BlueScientific has established across our markets.”
Aptco Group has acquired 100% of BlueScientific, with Tom Warwick and Stephen Badger continuing to lead the business. Both will also join Aptco Group’s leadership team and become shareholders in the combined group.
The deal marks an exciting new chapter for a company that has grown from its base at St John’s Innovation Centre into an international scientific instrumentation business.
