Pitchfest finalists and founders of Twipes, a chemical-free ‘biodegradable’ wet wipes, which disperse in water within three hours, have launched their new subscription platform in time for Christmas.
Traditional wipes are behind the 90% of sewer blockages, fatbergs and the river and ocean pollution releasing micro-plastics into our ecosystems. Twipes has the potential to disrupt the global personal care wipes market with their biodegradable, environmentally-friendly product as an alternative to the currently used 11 billion non-biodegradable ‘flushable’ wet wipes in the UK.
Twipes can be used for all personal hygiene needs. They are dermatologically tested meaning they are safe for use as baby wipes and as a personal care product on the face and body to remove makeup.
Ellenor McIntosh and Alborz Bozorgi, entrepreneurs and the winners of the 2017 Mayor of London’s Entrepreneur of the Year student competition for their invention, were among 15 innovative companies pitching to investors during the Pitchfest Showcase Day held in Cambridge.
